A downtown Minneapolis high-rise apartment building transformed into a war zone on a Wednesday afternoon when an active shooter opened fire, leaving three people dead, including the suspected gunman, and wounding multiple others, including three police officers.
The violence erupted shortly after 4:30 p.m. at Loring Towers, located at 15 East Grant Street near Loring Park and the Minneapolis Convention Center. Initial emergency calls reported a single person shot, but the situation escalated into a full-scale tactical operation as Minneapolis Police Department officers rushed to the scene. Responding units entered the building in less than two minutes, navigating immediate chaos and encountering victims before tracking gunfire to an upper floor.
